What are the benefits of membership?
By joining NHPGH, members are committing to healthcare system reform and showing their communities they are willing to use their market power to create change. This can be impactful in driving health plans and provider organizations to invest more heavily in system improvements. A larger membership allows for more influence across the state.
Employer Membership includes:
- Opportunities to attend employer-only forums to discuss issues employers are facing;
- Invitations to attend virtual and in-person events facilitated by the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions, the Leapfrog Group, and other healthcare policy organizations;
- Networking with other purchasing coalitions;
- Monthly healthcare policy, industry, and trend analysis;
- Legislative updates and advocacy work;
- Guidance on benefits design and implementation;
- Presentations from national experts;
- Representation of employer interests in local and national healthcare policy discussions; and
- A voice in shaping future NHPGH initiatives.
Who can join?
Historically, NHPGH has been comprised of solely public employers. Going forward, membership opportunities will be expanded to include not-for-profit organizations and private small employers, with an emphasis on self-funded insurance plans.
